Hello! My name is
Leonardo Torres, I’m from Cali and I’m 22 years old. I’m studying Bachelor
Degree in Foreign Language Education; why? Because I’ve always been interested in other
cultures. I would like to travel around the world and domain at least three
languages. I consider that a person who doesn’t speak a foreign language misses
half of the world, because there are other views of reality out there, there
are different approaches to life, and different ways to interact with other
human beings. Another reason has to do
with vocation: I want to be a teacher, and be of use to build a new country,
far from the fading XXth century Colombia.
I consider myself as
someone who enjoys of the act of reading. I have the habit of reading a book in
every space I might have, though I haven’t been able to keep on reading for
leisure lately, due to my academic and laboral duties. I think I usually do a
good job in comprehending the ideas a book communicates but, certainly, it depends
on the book I’m reading. What I mean is that I don’t get to comprehend Kant as
good as a literature book. What I read the most is literature, but once in a
while I read some specialized book. My score in the diagnose text was 93.33%.
My expectations for
this course are, mainly, to improve my writing skills through the development of
my synthesis abilities, the work on grammar, the enrichment of my vocabulary
and learning text analysis strategies, in order to be able of finding stronger text
interpretations. In spite the course is mainly focused on writing skills, I know
there will be spaces for discussion, so I hope I can improve my spoken English as
well.
Hi Leonardo. Your opening page is great, you did a nice job. But what about the rest? At this point, you should have one reflection, 2 or 3 short stories and at least 4 or 5 newspaper/magazine articles.
ResponderEliminarHi Professor. I have had some issues lately, but I'll catch up this weekend for sure.
